The project involved the retrofit of a 3-story, 44,600 square foot chemistry laboratory building. The facility is equipped with 20 laboratory spaces with 45 fume hoods, and a full observatory on the forth floor.

JP Harvey provided construction documents directing the removal of two pipe system (pipes, fan coil units, and associated hardware), existing fume hoods (cabinets, equipment, and all associated duct and exhaust fans), make-up air units providing disposal in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Construction documents also directed a complete removal and replacement of the facility electrical service and distribution system resolving extensive code compliance issues and hazards. All systems removed were replaced with systems to meet and exceed current requirements for high level laboratory functions and bring the facility fully into code compliance.
